Lip Fillers and Anti-wrinkle
Dentists have a profound understanding of complete facial aesthetics, and a great smile is more than just perfect teeth. Fuller lips and smoother features are ways to make sure that your beautiful smile is framed by a symmetric and youthful face.
Dento-facial injectables are a great way to enhance or rejuvenate your features. By considering how the entire structure of your face affects your smile our dentists will make sure that your best features are subtly enhanced without interfering with the integrity of your looks.
Our dentists have completed extensive training in facial injectables and already have the advantage of knowing how the intricate muscles of the face work.
The treatment usually lasts from 3 months for antiwrinkle injectables and around 12-18months for fillers.
At Refresh Dental Care we can treat everything from wrinkles, frown lines, crow’s feet, thin lips and much more.

FAQs
Dysport and Princess.
With most fillers we have the option to use local anaesthetic to numb the area. i.e., with lip fillers. With Anti-wrinkle injectables the needles are extremely thin and fine reducing the feeling of having facial injections.
Anti-wrinkle and filler appointments do not take very long. This depends on how many areas of the face you are having done. On average an appointment for this type of treatment would be 30 to 40 minutes.
For Anti-wrinkle injectables we advise not to lay down for 4 hours following treatment, not to manipulate the treated area for 3 hours following treatment, not receive facial/laser treatments or microdermabrasion for 10 days following treatment, avoid vigorous exercise, straining and heavy lifting and/or bending forward for 6 hours.
We recommend you exercise the treated muscles with natural movements. You can expect the full effect to become apparent within 4-10 days. If the desired result is not seen after 14 days of your treatment, you may require additional treatment.
For filler we advise you to void significant movement and/or manipulation of the treated area, unless instructed by your provider, avoid vigorous exercise, straining and heavy lifting for 24 hours, avoid extensive sun and/or heat for 72 hours and to avoid consuming excess amounts of alcohol.
Do not consume alcohol for 24 hours prior to your scheduled appointment.
Avoid anti-inflammatory/blood thinning medications, if possible, for a period of two weeks prior to your scheduled appointment. Medications & supplements such as aspirin, vitamin E, ginseng, St. John’s wort, omega 3/fish oil supplements, ibuprofen, Advil and other NSAIDS have a blood thinning affect and can increase the risk of bruising and swelling.
Avoid excessive sun and heat, chemical peels, and laser treatments. Skin must be fully healed prior to treatment
If you have a history of cold sores, please let your provider know. We may put you on antiviral medication prior to treatment. If in use, temporarily discontinue Retin-A or Retinol 2 days before and 2 days after treatment. Reschedule your appointment at least 24 hours in advance if you have a rash, cold sore or blemish on the area to be treated.
As a general rule you can return for more treatment 3 to 4 months after your appointment for anti-wrinkle injectables. For fillers it is patient preference when they would like to return, however your dental professional will discuss recommendations with you.
